We appreciate your consideration in partnering with us as it has proven to be a very successful model for workcamp NE . Your agencies have the greatest awareness of the needs of the elderly, disabled and under-resourced in your neighborhoods.

We desire to offer additional help when your overstretched staff comes up against overwhelming budget constraints. All work and materials provided on homes is FREE OF CHARGE.

We don't discriminate based on age, race, religious beliefs, etc. Being highly professional and strictly confidential, we strive to maintain the same comfort and dignity of your clients as you do as we enable them to extend their stay within their own homes.

Things we look for when choosing homes to work on:

-Financial need is based on your, the social service agency's recommendation. workcamp NE never asks to see financial records. We may make a determination based on the condition of the home and belongings –- the more dire the situation, the more likely the home would be chosen first.

-Residents must be the homeowners. We can only work on homes that are not leased or rented.

-The work lies within the scope of what our volunteers can handle. All work is done by crews of five student campers under the supervision of an adult leader. We take pride in our work, but cannot offer a written guarantee for the quality of work produced for obvious reasons.

-Residents who are comfortable knowing they will NOT have professional contractors specifically dedicated to their site. We recruit contractors and people in the building trades for overseeing all of our projects.

-Residents must be comfortable with having 5 to 6 teen/college-aged students at their home for a week. There will always be an adult (over 21) supervising them.

-Someone must be home for the first day of work to acclimate the crew –- after that it is up to the homeowner’s discretion as to whether they want to be home. All adult volunteers have had background safety checks. We encourage the resident to keep appointments as necessary if they are comfortable with leaving the crew alone at their home.

Although a religious-based organization, workcamp NE NEVER pushes our beliefs on the resident. We realize that as "guests in their home," we must respect their values. We will socialize as much with the resident as they are comfortable with, but understand there are those who may enjoy less interaction.

There is NO FINANCIAL COMMITMENT required of the Social Service Agency or the resident for any materials or work done. workcamp NE is very clear from the beginning what can be accomplished and carefully judges how much work can be done in a week and what the impact to our budget will be. Any comments/concerns from the resident or the social worker are greatly appreciated and we do our utmost to make it a great experience for everyone involved.

All campers and the workcamp NE program are fully insured.
